I grew up in Pusselsheim, a small village on the edge of the Steigerwald.

I was first exposed to French folk music when I joined the band Trouz: I learned what an An Dro and a Laridee are, that you can play a waltz in 5/4 time and that Tri Yann is not a kind of cheese. My love for the Celtic music of Britanny took root.

After that, I played five years with Vivre, a band with a very French touch, and delved even deeper into the world of Fest Noz and Balfolk while living in Brest for six months.
